Purpose: This application works together with the Installer application, version 4.0.5. The 4.0.5 Installer has multilingual capabilities. This installer application can have localized resources added to it so that it's interface appears in the language of the running system software (if available) based on a run-time check. For this mechanism to work, the localized resources for the target languages you wish to have available during installation must be placed into the Installer appliction. The Globalizer allows you to do this.
Usage: To add languages to the Installer 4.0.5 application, you need the "Globalizer" application. In addition, you need the Installer 4.0.5 and localized versions of the Installer 4.0.3 for each language you wish to add. These are available in the SDK. To use the Globalizer, place the Installer 4.0.5 application, named "Installer" exactly, in the same folder as the Globalizer. Then launch the Globalizer, and you will be queried for the localized Installer 4.0.3 application of the language you wish to add. Select that app, and the localized resources will be silently added to the Installer 4.0.5 application. NOTE: With many languages enclosed, the Installer 4.0.5 will tend to become quite large.
Examples: You might want to ship one product that covers both Simplified and Traditional Chinese, yet have the language presented to the user in the correct language (depending on the running system software) for that user. The Globalizer and Installer 4.0.5 allows you to do this for the Installer application. NOTE: Some of the interface during the installation process comes from the installer script. For complete multilingual interface during an install, this must be handled as well.
